Dates
A Service
Schedule query gives you one week's worth of schedules; a schedule beginning
each day of the week.
- If you don't specify a Start Date, you will get a 7-day schedule that
begins the day of your query.
- If you select a Start Date from the drop-down menu, you will get a 7-day
schedule that begins on the day you select.
Shipping Instructions
Release Time
- If you select a specific time to submit shipping instructions, the
resulting schedule will be based on the first scheduled train after that time.
- If you don't specify a time for submitting shipping instructions, the
schedule will be based on the first available schedule for each day.
Shipments Involving an Interchange
If your shipment involves an
interchange with another railroad, the junction city with the other railroad(s)
needs to be either the origin or destination city, as our schedules are only for
CSXT-served points. As our schedules may differ depending on which railroad we
connect with, you may use the "Interchange Road" option to get the schedule that
most accurately represents your move.
1. Tell us the shipment origin;
customer location or city and state.
2. Tell us the destination; customer
location or city and state.
3. Click the "Include interchange
railroad" link. You will be taken to a new page where you can indicate the
connecting railroad.
- If CSX is receiving the shipment from another railroad, select that
railroad from the "Railroad Received From" drop-down menu.
- If CSX is giving the shipment to another railroad, select that railroad
from the "Railroad Going To" drop-down menu.
- If the final destination is different from the interchange location on
CSX, tell us that city and state.
4. Once you have completed your optional selections, just click "Submit" at
the bottom of the page.
Service Schedules for Registered ShipCSX Users
If you're a registered
ShipCSX user, you have the option to find transit schedules from specific
shipper locations and/or to specific receiver locations when you log in. This
gives you a more accurate schedule showing actual service from a shipper’s dock
to a receiver’s dock.

specific CSXT-served shipper to a specific CSXT-served receiver. This is almost
the same as doing a city to city look-up.
- Tell us the name of the Shipper or Origin City and State and select ‘GO.’
If you're not sure of a Shipper or City’s spelling, just type the partial
Shipper or City name (include State name when searching by City) and click
‘GO.’ We’ll bring back choices from which to select. Once your choices are
complete for the origin, click ‘GO’ again and proceed to the Destination
selection.
- Tell us the name of the Receiver or Destination City and State and select
‘GO.’ If you're not sure of a Receiver or City’s spelling, just type the
partial Receiver or City name (include State name when searching by City) and
click ‘GO.’ We’ll bring back choices from which to select. Once your choices
are complete for the origin, click ‘GO’ again and proceed to the Shipment
Options selection. If complete, continue to step 3.
- Click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
