Placing your coal, ethanol , phosphate, or rock orders is done using 2 side-by-side calendars. The right calendar shows the load origin at which the unit train is to be loaded. The left one shows the shipment's destination and is a sum of all the shipments ordered for that month. For ease of use, the system is designed to remember which origins have been supplying each destination and the sizes of the orders between those origins and destinations.
Another new addition is that requests can be changed up until the origin has reviewed the requests using ShipCSX and indicated an agreement to load the requests in an area in this tool. You can delete requests at any time up until the load origin has indicated 'yes' in the plan-to-load function.
Here is a quick summary of how requests are submitted:
Choose the ‘Place Orders’ task
Select the destination for your order
Select the loading origin
Check the order parameters
Click in the desired loading dates on the right calendar
Submit the requests
Select a new loading origin if needed
Step 1: Choose View Orders Task
To get to the View Orders task you can choose it from the task bar at the top of any Unit Train tool page.
Step 2: Choose a destination from the 'Location' drop-down
Select the location (1) for which you are ordering.
Click 'Submit' (2) to bring back information about the coal loading origins recently shipping to this destination.
If you have multiple consignees for this destination, select one then click 'Submit' again to get your load origin choices.
Step 3: Choose a Load Origin (Shipper) the 'Origin' drop-down
Select a loading origin (3) from the list to open up the correct ordering calendar.
If no origins exist in the drop-down or you want to add a new load origin, click the 'Add Load Origin' link, pick a mine and click 'Add'.
Step 4: Review the suggested order parameters and, if correct, click in a date field on the right calendar to add your request.
Review the order information details (1). This will be used each time you click in a date field on the origin calendar (right side). You can change any of the details and the next click on a date will reflect those changes. NOTE for non-coal shipments: You only have to be sure that the number of cars in the shipment is filled in. Tons, coal class and weigh location do not pertain.
The green and red numbers (2) on the dates indicate the car loads currently on order for that origin. The numbers are green if the car totals are less than the general daily loading capacity for that origin. If red, the origin could be over-subscribed for that day. You can still request a loading on a 'red' day.
To enter a loading request, simply click in the gray date field (3). Each time you click it adds 1 order with the parameters at the top of the calendar.
If you over-click or enter one by mistake, click on the red 'x' (4) to open a pop-up that lets you clear it out.
The 'Reset' button (5) will clear out all un-submitted changes to the calendar, returning it to how it looked when first opened.
Once you've clicked in all of the needed loading dates for this origin, click the 'Submit' button (6) to send the requests to CSXT. This adds the requests to the left calendar (the destination).
If you have another load origin for this destination, go back up to the 'Location' section above and choose another origin then work through these steps again. Each time you click 'Submit' the new request are added to the destination calendar and the totals are shown at the bottom (7).
Scrolling down the 'Place Orders' page will show the details of each request on the destination calendar (left side) that is still in 'Requested' status. From here, the requests can be modified or deleted.
Go to Modifying and Deleting requests.
