You can do a single search or search on up to 5 Origin/Destination combinations. There is also a feature to populate your search criteria with previous request data.
Steps required to retrieve price(s):
Step 1: Enter an origin and destination city, state, and carrier.
1. Click on the Origin State drop-down menu and select the origin state or province from the list by clicking on the state or province.
2. Next, enter any or all of the letters of the origin city name in the text box provided. Tab or click out of the box to populate he drop-down menu to the right of the text box.
3. Choose the appropriate origin city from the drop-down menu by clicking on the city. Clicking on the city will populate the carriers for the city in the carrier drop-down menu.
4. Choose the appropriate carrier from the drop-down menu by clicking on the carrier, unless already shown.
5. Repeat the steps for the destination state, city, and destination carrier.
Step 2: Choose one of the following options for searching:
STCC/Commodity Description
Price Authority
Price List
The search criteria defaults to search by STCC/Commodity Description. You can enter the STCC, the partial STCC, or the commodity description into the search box.
1. To enter a STCC, type the 7-digit STCC in the field that says 'STCC/Commodity Description'. The corresponding STCC and commodity description will be populated in a selection area below the box. You can select the STCC by clicking on it or tabbing once the STCC is highlighted.
2. To enter a Commodity Description, type the commodity name in the field that says Enter any of all the digits of a STCC or description. The more specific the commodity name, the small the STCC/Commodity Description lit will be.
Once your STCC has been selected, you have the ability to view the full STCC description by clicking on the info icon.
OR
Another search option is by Price Authority.
To enter a Price Authority, select 'Click here to search by Price Authority'. Your search box will change from the STCC/Commodity Description to read 'Price Authority'. Type the current contract, quote or public tariff in the field. the carrier should be entered with the Price Authority number, example, CSXT1234.
OR
The other option is to search by Price List.
To search by Price List, select 'Click here to search by price list'. Your search box will change from the STCC/Commodity Description to read 'Price List'.
1. Click on the drop-down menu and select the price list.
2. To get more detail about specific products covered under a price list, after you select the price list, click on 'View Details'.
The Product Detail page lists all the STCCs and commodity descriptions for the price list chosen.
Step 3 is optional. The following fields can help narrow your search: Car Owner, Equipment Type, or Applicable Period. Select 'Click here to display the optional search criteria'.
1. To add a Car Owner to the search, select the owner type from the drop-down menu.
The list includes:
Railroad for cars owned by CSXT or another railroad.
Private for cars privately owned and/or leased
2. To add an Equipment Type to the search, select the type of equipment from the drop-down menu.
3. To choose an Applicable Period, you can choose a date range from the fields shown below:
Or you can click on the calendar 
and select the day you want on the calendar. The
date will populate the field.
If the date range is not entered, the search will look up prices currently in effect.
- To restart your search, click the Reset Button
- To complete your price look-up, click the Retrieve Price(s) button
Step 1: Select 'Click to add an additional price search' or 'Add up to five'.
You can use the 'Copy from previous' link to populate the search criteria from the previous search input. From here, you are able to modify any of the fields for your new search.
There are also 'Clear Price Look-up' links to reset each search form.
Repeat the steps for the 'Single Price Request'.
- To restart your search, click the Reset Button
- To complete your price look-up, click the Retrieve Price(s) button
Previous Search Criteria (Secured only):
If you have completed Price Look-Up requests in the past, these origin/destination combinations will be stored in 'Recent Price Inquiries'. You can click on the drop-down menu to select the origin/destination combination you would like to search on, or you can modify any fields to perform a new search.
When the 'Recent Price Inquiry' has a '+' sign behind the Origin/Destination pair, that request was a Multiple Price Request.

- To complete your price look-up, click the Retrieve Price(s) button
