Can I retrieve Interline Prices?

 

CSX provides Competitive Carload Prices for virtually all General Merchandise commodities for points east of the Mississippi served by CSXT and shortlines.  CSXT is working with other major railroads to provide coverage throughout North America.  A+B Pricing is a feature of ShipCSX Price Look-Up that allows the instant creation of interline prices with participating Class 1 carriers (BNSF, CN, CPRS, NS, and UP).

What is A+B Interline Pricing?

 

A+B Pricing is a feature of ShipCSX Price Look-Up that allows the instant creation of interline prices with participating Class 1 carriers.  If you enter a query from CSXT or its shortline partners to a participating Class 1 carrier using the STCC/Commodity search option, you will be presented with one or more equipment options available for a rate.  When you select one ore more of those options, rates are returned if available.  You will have the option to Accept Price(s), which will publish your rate(s) for the listed effective period(s).  You can print this screen for a record of this publication.

The A+B Interline Price is only an offer until you accept it.  Once you accept, you are able to use the price for the effective period specified.

What is a STCC?

 

A STCC (pronounced "stick") is a Standard Transportation Commodity Code.  It is up to seven digits and defines a unique products (e.g. coiled steel, flour, coal, etc).

What is Rule 11?

 

Freight Mandatory Railway Accounting Rule 11 is invoked for interline shipments that don't have "through pricing".  The rule means that each rail carrier in the route will create freight bills for its portion of the movement.

What is Rule 29?

 

Rule 29, (Uniform Freight Classification Tariff-UFC 6000) applies to shipments requiring two or more open cars to accommodate long or bulky articles.  No series of more than four car minimum weights will apply on all lead cars with 24,000 minimum (unless tariff excepted ) on each idler.

A Price Authority is a written agreement that may contain rates, and/or provisions for specific services.  A Price Authority may be a contract, quote, or public tariff.
