Adding Cars to Your CSX Pool(s)

Fleet Managers can add new cars to your company’s pool(s) using the ‘Add Cars to Fleet’ tab. In this section, cars can be added 1 at a time or up to 3000 at a time using a simple file upload from your computer. This tab is only visible to a company's designated Fleet Managers.

 

 

 

NOTE: Please be sure that you have a valid CSX OT-5 for any cars that you plan to add to a pool.

 

Here are the steps to adding groups of new cars:

 

 

  1. If this will be a group of cars uploaded using a .csv file on your computer, click on the ‘Browse’ button (1) to find the file on your computer. If you are not sure of the format of the .csv file, there is a ‘Sample Upload Template’ that will show you what we expect.

  2. After you’ve selected the file and clicked ’Open’ (2), the cars will load and fill in the right side.

  3. At the bottom of the right side, select a pool (3) and click ‘Go’ (4).

  4. Our system will process through the list to make sure that –

 

The system will report back to you regarding the success of your car additions. The ‘Clear’ button clears the screen of entries so that you can start again.

 

Here are the steps for manually adding 1 or more new cars:

 

 

  1. Click on ‘Add a Car’ (1).

  2. An entry box opens on the right side to enter the car’s initial. Enter the car initials (2) and hit the Tab key to move to the car number entry field and enter is number. Tab again to enter another car.

  3. At the bottom of the right side, select a pool (3) and click ‘Go’ (4).

  4. Our system will process through the car or cars to make sure that –

    1. The car has a valid CSX OT-5.

    2. The car is in UMLER.

    3. The car is not already in someone else’s pool.

    4. The car is not already in the pool you’ve selected it to go into.

 

The system will report back to you regarding the success of your car addition(s). The ‘Clear’ button clears the screen of entries so that you can start again.
