CSXT HDF Fuel Surcharge will change October 1, 2010

Dear CSX Transportation Customer:

The CSX Transportation HDF fuel surcharge will change October 1, 2010.

CSXT HDF/Mileage Based Fuel Surcharge
The highway diesel fuel/mileage based fuel surcharge is published in CSXT Fuel Surcharge Publication 8661 and applies to all regulated linehaul freight rates existing or established by CSXT on or after April 23, 2007. It also applies to all linehaul freight rates and charges with respect to exempt, contract, private or other pricing documents that reference CSXT Publication 8661 on or after April 23, 2007.

The CSXT HDF/mileage based fuel surcharge of 23 cents per mile, which became effective September 1, 2010, will change to 24 cents per mile for shipments having a bill of lading dated on or after October 1, 2010.

The 24 cents per mile fuel surcharge is based on the "HDF Average Price" of 295.9 cents per gallon for the calendar month of August 2010. The "HDF Average Price" is on U. S. No. 2 Diesel Retail Sales by All Sellers, as determined and published by the U. S. Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration at www.eia.doe.gov.

Following are the CSXT HDF/mileage based fuel surcharge rates for 2010:
" 20 cents per mile effective January 1, 2010
" 19 cents per mile effective February 1, 2010
" 22 cents per mile effective March 1, 2010
" 20 cents per mile effective April 1, 2010
" 23 cents per mile effective May 1, 2010
" 27 cents per mile effective June 1, 2010
" 27 cents per mile effective July 1, 2010
" 24 cents per mile effective August 1, 2010
" 23 cents per mile effective September 1, 2010
" 24 cents per mile effective October 1, 2010

CSXT WTI Fuel Surcharge
The CSXT WTI fuel surcharge will remain unchanged effective October 1, 2010.
Customers having confidential pricing utilizing the CSXT WTI Fuel Surcharge in Tariffs CSXT 8100/8200 must be registered ShipCSX users to access the WTI Fuel Surcharge status information.
